For the First Time Ever

For the first time ever, I'm doing a guest post.  It's actually a big honor for me because it's for a friend of mine, Kim Wilson, who is doing some amazing work with college kids out in Pittsburgh.  She began a series on her blog titled "To My 20-Year Old Self"; it's to this series that I am contributing, and the topic I'm speaking about won't surprise a lot of my regular readers: body image. So scoot on over to her blog and check it out!

  1. You asked what I do when I need to blow the stink off - I take a walk, preferably in the woods at Charleston Falls or Mrs. Aull's Garden (Aullwood) - or around our block.

  2. Thank you for your words. I share the same struggle. And my body-hate comes with an added layer - infertility.

In a conversation about weight/body shape, I once had a woman tell me: "Those are childbearing hips you have!" Yeah - except they're not!! These hips will never bear children *sigh*

I so appreciate you sharing this. And I just might post that C.S. Lewis blessing around the house as a daily reminder. I hope for more and better for my daughter (adopted at 3 days old and now 2y4m).
